About this product

Pint & Beer Glasses

Pint glasses are bought in two completely different situations and the right answer is different in each. A taproom ordering four hundred for service is buying a consumable that will go through a caustic commercial wash several times a day for two years. A brewery selling merchandise is buying something that will be hand-washed at home twenty times a year.

For service, fired ceramic ink is almost always correct. The decorated glass runs through a lehr at over eleven hundred degrees and the frit fuses into the surface, so it is glass on glass and it cannot abrade off. For retail, an organic ink print costs less, hits brighter colours and will comfortably survive a domestic dishwasher. Both are legitimate; buying the second for the first job is the single most common mistake in this category.

The rest is shape and stock. Nonic, conical, tulip and can-shape all print differently because the wrap changes with the taper, and a design laid out flat lands distorted on a steep cone unless it is compensated. We proof on the actual glass shape, and we keep every decoration at least 20mm below the rim.

Best for

Who this style suits

Breweries and taprooms

Fired ink for glasses washed three times a day.

Pubs and bars

Shapes proofed individually, because taper changes the wrap.

Merchandise programmes

Organic ink where the glass goes home, not to service.

FAQ

Pint & Beer Glasses: quick answers

What is the minimum order for pint and beer glasses?
Minimum order is just 12 — with bulk pricing tiers as quantities grow.
How fast will my order arrive?
Your free mockup lands within 24 hours and the finished order ships in about 2 weeks — express turnaround is available for tight dates.
Which decoration survives a commercial dishwasher?
Fired ceramic ink, reliably and indefinitely. The frit is fused into the glass surface in a lehr, so what remains is glass and it cannot abrade away. Organic epoxy and UV-cure inks sit on the surface as a cured film; they look excellent and they will fade and wear under caustic commercial detergent at high temperature, usually somewhere between a few dozen and a few hundred cycles depending on the wash chemistry. We ask how the glass will be washed before recommending a method.
Why does my design look distorted on a tapered glass?
Because the artwork was laid out flat and the glass is a cone. As the diameter changes up the wall, a straight line printed flat becomes a curve on the glass and text arcs. It is fixed by compensating the artwork for the specific taper before the screen is made, which we do as standard, and it is one of the reasons we proof on the actual glass shape rather than approving a flat file.
